Clevedon to Burnham-On-Sea.
So, with young Kate's detailed instructions in my pocket, off we went Southwards from Clevedon towards Burnham, taking a pic or two as we left...
the pier at Clevedon, streching out from the mud!
Kate's instructions took us along the sea front, down a lane or three, up a hill, past a golf club, down a hill, on the main road to get to Yatton railway station and walk 2 miles along The Strawberry Line, a very pleasant little track.
The problems began as we came off The Strawberry Line near Congresbury, Kate had said just walk into Weston, then down the beach to Burnham. GPS had us following a series of very windy lanes - which, it must be said, were very quiet and pretty -
but took us to the Southern end of Burnham, and added several miles. No matter, we passed Brent Knoll which is always pleasant
and plodded into Burnham at around 7.0 p.m.
The sun had been shining for most of the day, and provided a few dazzling scenes as it shone on The Severn Estuary in the evening.
a quick scrub down and stroll around the corner to find an eaterie, then settle down for a good rest for the night at The Royal Clarence Hotel, which was most pleasant and marvellous. A pic will follow tonight when I get my act together. We are plodding cross country to Bishops Lydiard today, deep into Somerset, with Devon not very far away now. By tonight I will also have a better idea of total mileage, which must be nearing 800 I think!!
